What Is Industrial Maintenance?

According to the AFNOR definition, maintenance aims to maintain or restore an asset to a specified condition so that it can provide a specific service. Maintenance encompasses activities such as troubleshooting, repair, adjustment, revision, equipment control, and verification. A maintenance service may also be involved in studies to improve the industrial process and, like other departments in the company, must take into account various constraints such as quality, safety, the environment, cost, and more.

Maintenance has become a genuine source of productivity for companies. Corrective and preventive actions are now integrated into efficient methods and tools to ensure the safety, sustainability, and productivity of a company.

A hydrocarbon complex possesses a very significant inventory of equipment that needs to be maintained in excellent working condition. With the increase in automation, equipment maintenance becomes crucial. Achieving quality production and meeting deadlines are only possible by preventing equipment breakdowns, incidents, and failures.
